Jake Arden to read at Over The Edge

Galway born writer to be joined by poet Kate Fox and short story writer Rozz Lewis

JAKE ARDEN, the son of the writers and activists Margaretta D’Arcy and John Arden, will read at the next Over The Edge: Open Reading on Zoom.

The reading takes place on Thursday February 25 at 6.30pm, and will also feature the poet, Kate Fox, and the short story writer Rozz Lewis. The MC will be Susan Millar DuMars.

Jake Arden has worked in the voluntary, local government, higher education, and charity sectors for many years, and today lives in Canterbury. He is the author of the short story collection, Spartans of the Corrib (2015 ), inspired by his childhood, and the novel, A Little Patch of England (2020 ), inspired by the local history of Kent during WWII. He is working on a new novel set in Paris in the 1830s.

British poet Kate Fox has been a poet in residence on BBC Radio 4's Saturday Live, Glastonbury Festival, and the Great North Run. She is a regular contributor to Radio 3’s The Verb. Her stand up spoken word show celebrating northern English women, Where There’s Muck There’s Bras, was a hit in 2018. Her most recent show, Bigger On The Inside, uses a stand up lecture format to explore the history of neurodiversity through the lens of Doctor Who.

Rozz Lewis runs a literary blog, at http://www.rozz.ie, and her stories have been published in Stinging Fly, Crannóg, Boyne Berries, Wordlegs, and Galway Review. She has been listed for the New Planet Cabaret, Penguin Short Story, and Fish Fiction Prizes.
