As Christmas approaches there are many members of our community in need of help. Covid-19 regulations have, in common with many others, restricted some of our fund-raising efforts. However, this will not stop us attempting to fill the void, as the need does not disappear and we remain very conscious of peoples’ situations during the current pandemic. Our aim remains: provide Christmas vouchers to over 400 in need families/individuals, who are identified in collaboration with SVP, Simon and Social Services Staff. We also will be fundraising for various projects that we run during the year.

Over the next six weeks we will be running our Annual Radio Auction and a Virtual Cash Collection and are once again appealing to the businesses and people of Galway to help us to help others. Both events will comply with all current Covid safety regulations.

The Annual Galway Lions Club Radio Auction on Dec 4 was launched on The Galway Talks with Keith Finnegan Show at the Galway Bay FM Studio last week Keith was joined by Lord Mayor Councillor Mike Cubbard, Bishop Brendan Kelly, Auction Project Chair Lion Geraldine Mannion and The President of Galway Lions Club Brian O’Keeffe.

The #lionsauction2020 will take place between 9.00 am and 12.00 pm and will be broadcast live on Galway Talks with Keith Finnegan show and streamed live on: https://www.facebook.com/GalwayLionsClub.ie
