GALWAY ARTS Centre is offering aspiring poets a choice of three online poetry workshops, starting in September, and facilitated by the poet Kevin Higgins.

The workshops will be conducted via private Facebook group, group email, and Zoom. Full details of precisely how the workshop will function online will be explained to participants during the first session.

Classes for complete beginners, as well as those who have been writing for some time, are on Tuesdays (7pm to 8.30pm ) starting September 22, and Fridays (2pm to 3.30pm ) starting September 25. The Thursday workshop (2pm to 4pm starting September 24 ) is an advanced workshop for those who have participated in poetry workshops before or had poems published.

Kevin is the author of the poetry collections The Boy With No Face (2005 ), Time Gentlemen, Please (2008 ), Frightening New Furniture (2010 ), Song of Songs 2.0: New & Selected Poems (2017 ), and Sex and Death at Merlin Park Hospital (2019 ), all published by Salmon Poetry.
