Two concerts from ConTempo

Quartet return with 3 Saturdays and From Europe With Love concert series

CONTEMPO QUARTET'S concert series - the 3 Kinds Of Music events at The Mick Lally Theatre, and the From Europe With Love lunchtime performances at St Nicholas' Collegiate Church - are back.

3 Kinds Of Music is on this Saturday at 11am, where ConTempo will play Haydn’s Sun Quartets, Opus 20. Also performing are Gergely Kuklis (violin ) and Ramin Haghjoo (piano ), with special guest Giles Dupuoy (ocarina ) and jazz pianist Cormac McCarthy. Admission is free but early arrival is advised as spaces are limited.

Luxembourg will be the focus of From Europe With Love - the concert series exploring music from across the 27 EU member states - on Tuesday March 3 at 1.10pm. ConTempo will perform selected movements from Laurent Menager's String Quartet in A, as well as Alexander Mullenbach's String Quartet No 2 and Marco Putz's Memento. The guest speaker will be Jimmy McGing who spent 35 years working with the EU Commission in Luxembourg. Admission is free and open to all, though early arrival is recommended.
