Ireland’s best-selling van

The Peugeot Partner van, the joint-winner of the Irish Van of the Year 2020, was Ireland’s best-selling van in January.

Capturing 8.89 per cent share of the critical January market, the Partner van sales grew +35.85 per cent year-on-year.

Peugeot’s total LCV market share grew by +28.49 per cent in the month, lifting the brand into third position in the Light Commercial Vehicle sales chart. It held fourth place in January 2019, but now commands 11.53 per cent of the overall LCV market, compared to 9.17 per cent last year. Ford remains the top brand with 21.87 per cent followed by Volkswagen in second place with 18.06 per cent.

Boasting a modern, robust exterior styling, the Partner van is the first light commercial vehicle in the range to receive the acclaimed Peugeot i-Cockpit interior comprising a compact steering wheel and heads up instrument panel.

Peugeot says the Partner van is available in a choice of six trims to ensure business needs are met: Access, Active, Active Plus, Professional, Professional Plus, and Grip trim. Standard equipment from the Access model includes USB, Bluetooth and jack connectivity, 15” wheels, spare wheel, driver and passenger airbags, overhead storage, rear panelled doors, and full steel bulkhead.

Diesel engines available are: a 1.5 BlueHDi diesel 75bhp five-speed manual; a 1.5 BlueHDi diesel 100bhp S&S five-speed manual, a 1.5 BlueHDi 130bhp S&S six-speed manual, and a 1.5 BlueHDi 130bhp S&S automatic eight-speed S&S. Available in two lengths, payloads range from 650kg to 1,000kg, and up to two Europallets can be accommodated.

The Partner range retails from €16,935 plus delivery related charges, or ex-VAT from €13,806 plus delivery.

Colin Sheridan, sales and marketing director at Gowan Distributors, Peugeot Importer in Ireland, said: “Our LCV performance in January 2020 has been very strong, as demand for the award-winning Partner, Expert and Boxer van continues to soar, backed by growing interest in our 308 and 3008 car derived vans. We now look forward to the arrival mid-year of the new all-electric e-Expert van, while the new e-Boxer will follow before year end.”
