Part-time courses launched in Galway Community College for January 2020

Why not sign up for a hobby/interest or upskill by registering online for one of Galway Community College's accredited courses as a way to spend those long and dreary winter evenings. It is also a good idea for a Christmas present to apply online for a course for someone special in your life.

GCC has a total of 60 courses on offer which run on Mondays and Tuesdays from 7pm to 9.30pm. The hobbies/interest courses run for a period of eight weeks and the accredited courses run from 7pm to 10pm for a period of 10 weeks.

You can apply online at or attend the enrolment evening on Monday, January 13, from 5.30pm to 8pm. Any queries email [email protected]. Courses start on Monday, January 20, and Tuesday, January 21.

GCC has added a variety of courses for January, with arts and crafts courses including oil painting, portfolio preparation for students needing a portfolio for entry to third level art and architecture, upcycling clothes, and jewellery making where you can design your own jewellery. There are courses in interior design for new home owners or those doing renovations; machine maintenance for gardening equipment; and IT skills in creative photography, web design, and typing skills which may suit TY students.
