Take The Points with Des Bishop

Irish-American comedian to offer good advice for troubled times

'TAKE THE point' is good advice on the pitch, but an even better metaphor for life, especially when you do not take advice well, and especially if you are one of those angry troll types on Twitter.

There is so much 'white noise', 'opinion', and 'assertion', around right now, somebody needs to say, 'Try being informed, not just opinionated', and also, 'Just listen, you might learn something'.

Irish-American comedian Des Bishop has taken on this daunting role for himself, via his latest show, Take The Points, which he brings to the Town Hall Theatre on Monday November 4 and Tuesday 5 at 8pm.

In this show, Des considers #MeToo, consent, Donald Trump, the repeal of the Eight Amendment, and the angry online world. All are welcome to the show - snowflakes, the easily offended, those who complain about people being offended, PC and non-PC people, believers and atheists. We all have points to take and goals to come!

Tickets are available from the Town Hall (091 - 569777, www.tht.ie ).
