Corofin and Killannin to meet in junior decider

This year’s county junior A final, which precedes the intermediate final replay on Saturday, sees the meeting of Corofin and Killannin in Pearse Stadium, throw-in 1.45pm.

This is Corofin’s third-team versus Killannin’s second team, and there appears little to split these two sides.

Killannin came through the west board final with relative ease, dispatching Michéal Breathnach by a margin of eight points.

They had previously beaten Na Piarsaigh by a goal in the semi-final. A feature of their play has been a strong running half-back line, and on Sunday they will also have the benefit of an extra week's rest.

Corofin battled through to a five-point win over Milltown in their north board final victory on Saturday. This Corofin team has a keen eye for goal, having notched 14 goals in four games en route to winning the north board final.

Killanin will have to keep a close eye on Corofin centre forward Colm O’Donovan, former Galway United player, who kicked 1-06 in the victory over Milltown. He has looked a cut above the rest at this level throughout the campaign.
