Fun family cycle in support of Galway-Barna Greenway

First of a series of monthly family cycles to highlight 'the need for a greenway through Salthill and west to Barna'

A free, fun family cycle from Claddagh to Salthill and back will take place in support of the Galway-Barna Greenway this Sunday, May 12.

Campaigners for constructing a safe and segregated walking and cycling route from the city centre to Barna are inviting parents and children to take part in the event, which starts at Claddagh Hall at 11am.

"This is the first of a series of monthly family cycles that we hope will serve to highlight the need for a greenway through Salthill and west to Barna, while at the same time giving parents and children the chance to have a bit of fun on two wheels," explained a spokesperson for the Galway Urban Greenway Alliance. "Our first cycle will run just as far as the end of Grattan Road, and return to Claddagh Hall, where children can have a bit of fun in the playground afterwards."
