Lexus Galway Showroom hosts UX launch weekend

The new Lexus UX hybrid crossover will be launched this weekend at Lexus Galway in Ballybrit.

Lexus says the UX challenges everything that went before, with "bold design, unmistakable strength, but with elegantly sculpted surfaces , both stylish and dynamic".

It is the first Lexus built on the new Lexus GA–C global architecture platform, and comes equipped with new fourth generation self-charging hybrid powertrain with the second generation Lexus safety system+ standard on all models.

Lexus says the UX is designed for the "modern urban explorers seeking a fresh, contemporary and dynamic take on luxury driving, seeking not only what is new and exciting, but what is also relevant to their lifestyles."

Engineered to deliver quick and engaging driving with a Lexus-smooth demeanour, it claims to be a unique entry in the luxury compact crossover segment.

The UX is the first Lexus constructed using the new Global Architecture - Compact (GA-C ) platform. A lightweight yet super-rigid structure, extremely low centre of gravity and refined suspension tuning provide the UX with exemplary handling agility and ride comfort, along with a distinctive driving personality.

Available to order now, the UX 250h with a fourth-generation self-charging hybrid powertrain features a new high-efficiency 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine engineered specifically for this platform.

Lexus says it features luxurious and unique environment, using materials of the highest quality, excellent visibility, and state-of-the-art new generation self-charging hybrid that combines class-leading fuel efficiency with extremely smooth dynamic performance.

The charging hybrid produces 184hp of power, and t the heart of the UX 250h’s blend of petrol and electric power is the crossover’s power control unit, which is now 20 per cent smaller and 10 per cent lighter than previous Lexus systems.

Safety features include the new Lexus Safety System+, including pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with lane tracing assist, automatic high beam, dynamic radar cruise control and road sign assist.
