Galway city market is thriving

Shane Cox of Lynch Auctioneer says the property market is thriving in Galway cty.

A its recent auction of a one bedroom townhouse in St Brendan's Avenue in Galway city, the property was sold for well over the AMV. Last Friday, at the Victoria Hotel, the auctioneer opened the bidding to the floor and the first bid received was €150,000. Nineteen bids later, Shane Cox dropped the hammer and sold the property for €184,000.

Cox says Galway city and surrounding suburbs "are continuing to show increasing signs of a prosperous market".

"As predicted, house prices have continued to grow in 2018 proving again that Galway city is the second highest city in Ireland for increasing prices and stability, confirming that this increase in house prices reflects huge demand for houses, with a low supply of stock."
