Danny O'Brien - Lock-In at GIAF 18

Leading Irish comedian to play the Róisín Dubh

THERE ARE not many comedians who can boast they have followed in the footsteps of Simon Pegg, Dylan Moran, and Dara O’Briain, but that is what Irish comic Danny O'Brien did in 2016.

That year, he was handpicked to perform as part of the iconic Best of the Edinburgh Fest Show touring Australia, and playing the Perth World Fringe, Adelaide Fringe Festival, and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and returned in 2018 to play them again. He enjoyed a sell out, month long run, at the 2017 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and his show RaconTour was performed at 30 dates across six countries. No surprise The Examiner has said, "one suspects it won’t be too much longer before stadiums come calling".

Danny is coming to the Galway International Arts Festival, where he will bring his new show, Lock-In, to the Róisín Dubh on Monday July 16 at 8.30pm. Support is from Richie Bree. Tickets are from www.giaf.ie; the GIAF box office, Forster Street; Roisin Dubh; OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street; and www.roisindubh.net
