Connemara National Park named Ireland’s most loved walk

New research has found that Connemara National Park in Letterfrack, Co. Galway, is Ireland’s most loved walk. With 2000 hectares of mountain views and beautiful native woodlands, it is a huge hit with Irish walkers and outdoor lovers.

In second place was the famous Howth Cliff Loop in north Dublin, an almost eight-kilometre trail boasting idyllic views of islands, Howth lighthouse and the Irish Sea, all within striking distance of Dublin city centre.

Third place in the survey, meanwhile, went to the iconic Cliffs of Moher in Co. Clare, whose walking trail offers some of the most unforgettable coastal scenery in Ireland while also being praised for its accessibility.

Overall, Galway was the big winner, with three walking trails in the top 10, including the Connemara National Park, the Killary Harbour Trail, and the picturesque Portumna Forest Park.

Commenting on the research, Brian Fox, MD of Craghoppers Ireland, said, “These survey findings really show how lucky we are in Ireland to have such a diverse range of walking trails set among our wild, beautiful natural landscape. People love walking in places like Connemara National Park because nature provides us with space to breathe, think, and enjoy the moment.

“Of course, we are not blessed with the sunniest climate, but that’s where the right gear comes into its own,” Mr Fox said. “The new Craghoppers autumn-winter collection was designed to handle Ireland’s changing conditions, from soft fleeces for forest walks to waterproof parkas for days by the coast.

"We love helping our customers stay warm, dry and comfortable while they explore the places they love most. You can find Craghoppers at any one of our 35 Regatta Great Outdoors stores nationwide or online at craghoppers.ie
