Tickets are on sale now for the event, which takes place on Saturday, May 9, with doors at 7pm.

BIIRD is an 11-piece traditional music collective founded by musician and producer Lisa Canny, a seven-time All-Ireland champion on harp and banjo.

“This is a sisterhood born out of a shared passion for keeping the tradition of Irish music alive, giving it a new look, and keeping it on its toes,” she says.

“BIIRD bring the trad session vibe from the corner of a pub to a global audience. When performing together, a magic flows, with a mix of skill and sorcery.”

Growing up surrounded by the voices of Mary Black, Frances Black and Dolores Keane, Canny began developing the concept of an all-female trad supergroup more than a decade ago.

What started as an idea for a small ensemble eventually expanded into a much larger collective.

The flock of BIIRD is made up of Lisa on harp, banjo, vocals; Laura Doherty on fiddle and guitar; Zoran Donohoe on concertina; Sal Heneghan on fiddle and harp; Miadhachlughain O’Donnell on flute and vocals; Nicole Lonergan on fiddle; Niamh Hinchy on vocals and synth; Aoife Kelly on cello; Ciara Ní Mhurchú on fiddle; Hannah Hiemstra on drums; and Claire Loughran on fiddle and harp.

After appearing on The Late Late Show in February this year, they sold out every date of their debut Irish and British tour, thanks to their lively, zealous set and uncompromising dedication to Irish design.

Having recently signed up with Primary Talent as booking agents, 2026 promises to be an incredible year as BIIRD will support Ed Sheeran’s global tour, introducing their exciting take on modern trad to larger, international audiences.
