Galway City Karting is one of the top activities in Galway. The track, located in Liosban Industrial Estate, provides adrenaline-fuelled fun to everyone aged seven and up.
The track opens from 1pm on weekdays and from 10am on Saturday and Sunday. Galway City Karting has karts for all ages from seven years and upwards. All of the karts are powered by Honda engines, with 160cc junior karts and 200cc adult karts. You can also now enjoy the two-seater kart, perfect for younger passengers. The driver must be over 18 years old, and the passenger must be a minimum of four years.
If you want to practise your racing skills and beat the fastest lap, the 20-minute or 40-minute arrive and drive options are ideal.
Grand Prix Experience
Get ready for an adrenaline-fuelled Grand Prix event, designed for groups of nine to 30+ drivers. Whether you are racing with friends, colleagues, or rivals, this is your chance to experience the thrill of real competition.
Race Format:
Qualification Round: Drivers gets one chance to set their fastest lap and secure their position.
Semi-Finals: Multiple semi-final races are held based on group size. The fastest drivers qualify for Final A, while others compete in additional finals for placement.
Finals: Only drivers in Final A can compete for the ultimate victory and claim the Grand Prix title.
Podium celebration:
The top three drivers take their place on the podium, and the champion is awarded a bottle of bubbly to celebrate in style!
Timing is everything; your individual lap will be professionally timed by the Apex Timing System, the leader in timing systems in the go-kart world.
The track designers at Galway City Karting have spent years testing and shaping the course so you can maximise the thrill of this challenging 300-metre indoor track.

While the children are enjoying karting, other family members and friends can relax in the 25-seater spectator area or unwind in one of the two party rooms, complete with pool tables, snacks, and drinks, perfect for the whole family.
All you do is bring the cake and candles. Napkins, cups, plates, and cutlery are provided.
Every Tuesday and Thursday, Galway City Karting offers half-price karting. It is known as the ‘Two For’ days.
