This event gives women an opportunity to access circular fashion through buying special pre-loved pieces.
The evening will include bubbles and bites, making it a perfect opportunity to get together with friends over the festive season while enjoying sustainable shopping. Meghann Scully, presenter and contributor to RTÉ, Virgin Media, and TG4 will be MC on the night.
Women who wish to generously donate up to five carefully minded, pre-loved pieces, including dresses, coats and handbags that are clean and in sellable condition, can drop them off at Greene’s Shoes and Gosh Shoes in Eyre Square Shopping Centre. Further drop-off points can be obtained by emailing [email protected], and following event pages on Instagram and Facebook.
On the night, guests will have an opportunity to purchase exclusive prize draw tickets, including two tickets to see Amble play at their sold-out show in the 3 Arena on December 11, along with an overnight stay in Dublin boutique hotel, Albany Guest House.
Renowned Irish Visual Artist Peter Bradley, whose work hangs in the National Gallery of Ireland, has donated an original painting as part of the exclusive prize draw. Chef Neven Maguire has also donated a €300 voucher for use in a choice of either his Neven Maguire Cookery School or Maclean House and Restaurant.
The evening will see DJs Cyril “Disko” Briscoe and Ger O’Donnell setting the mood for a festive get-together from the outset.
Event Organiser Mairead McDonagh-Farrell explained: "What is happening in Gaza is one of the most horrific and heart-wrenching injustices of our time. So many of us carry the frustration of wanting to help but feeling powerless to make a difference.
"Gúnas for Gaza transforms that feeling into action, uniting fashion, creativity and community to support Medical Aid for Palestinians. Together we can stand in solidarity, raise our voices and bring hope where it is needed most.”
Host of Traitors, Siobhán McSweeney, has championed the event. The Derry Girls actor posted about the event on her Instagram Account, highlighting its importance. Sabina Higgins has also donated an outfit available for purchase on the evening to help raise funds for MAP.
