If variety is the spice of life, then Galway Comedy Festival has an extremely spicy menu, serving up a feast of solo shows from some of the best in the business.
Kai Humphries, Sharon Mannion, Aideen McQueen, Paddy McDonnell, Micky Bartlett, and David McSavage are bringing their latest solo shows to #GCF25.
Geordie comic Kai Humphries' new show Kaibosh!, will take place on Thursday, October 32 at 6pm in the Pálás Cinema. The show will regale audiences with stories about his hair transplant, the frightening and fascinating world of AI, schoolyard memories, and anecdotes galore about his wife and family.
Audiences can also catch Kai at the mixed bill Tigh He-He Comedy Club show, upstairs in Róisín Dubh on Thursday, October 23, at 8pm, and as part of the Comedy Club Crawl on Friday. October 24 at 10.30pm.
Sharon Mannion's In Jukebox Donkey is set for Saturday, October 25, at 6pm in the Pálás Cinema. Sharon spills the tea on what it was like being on that show and about Simon Cowell’s reactions.
There will be tales of showbiz let-downs, a Ryanair flight home, parenting chaos, and the absurd balancing act of chasing success only to find yourself serving tiny divas at home.
Sharon also joins the Improv All Stars in Róisín Dubh on Friday, October 24, at 7.30pm and Saturday, October 25, at 3pm.
Aideen McQueen will explore online communications' tendency to create misunderstanding in her latest show, Waiting For Texto. It enjoyed a triumphant run at the Edinburgh Fringe, earning much critical acclaim.
Aideen performs Waiting For Texto at Pálás Cinema on Sunday, October 26 at 6pm, where audiences will see why Scottish Field described it as having “many laugh out loud moments” and The Scotsman declared it “terrifically impressive: a warm and funny debut".
Aideen will also appear at Eddie Mullarkey's Full Of Mullarkey, on Sunday, October 26, at 8.30pm in the Pálás Cinema and at Anna Clifford’s Comedy For Witches on Monday, October 27, at 4pm, also in the Pálás Cinema.
Paddy McDonnell amassed an array of stories in his time as a taxi man, which have fuelled his comedy and delighted audiences across Ireland and Britain.
His new show, Dagger, hits the stage on Sunday, October 26 at 7.30pm in Róisín Dubh and will also appear on one of the Festival’s Laughternoon Delights mixed bills on Saturday, October 25 at 2.30pm in the Pálás Cinema.
Micky Bartlett's The Lurgan Legend is back on Saturday, October 2 at 7.30pm in Róisín Dubh. Micky shares his thoughts on the modern world and secrets most people wouldn’t tell their therapist.
His new show, Rocket, will take place on Saturday, October 25 at 5.30pm, upstairs at Róisín Dubh, and will involve “a load of bad words but nothing too offensive. Fun for all the family over the age of 16,” as he told Northern Ireland World, as well as “banging impressions of Trump”.
David McSavage's In The Occasional Ride is set for Sunday, October 26, at 4pm in the Pálás Cinema. This is a show about the awkward truths of being an older man in the bedroom, blending physical comedy, sharp observations, and reflections on ageing masculinity, long-term relationships, dating, health, and technology.
