Monroe’s Live hosts two standout performances this weekend, beginning with The Bluetones on Friday, October 10, followed by Máirín Fahy and Patsy Broderick on Saturday, October 11.

This Friday, Britpop favourites The Bluetones take to the stage at 9pm, supported by Si Noble.

The band have returned to the live circuit with new material after a 14-year break, releasing their latest single London Weekend Television and an EP of the same name.

This marks the third instalment in a trilogy of releases leading to a full-length album expected in early 2026.

Having re-emerged with new songs and a summer of festival appearances, their Galway performance offers audiences a chance to hear familiar favourites and fresh material. Tickets €25.

On Saturday, October 11, celebrated trad musicians, Máirín Fahy and Patsy Broderick, will launch their new album Galway to Fiji with doors open at 7.30pm.

The evening will feature guest musicians including Yvonne Fahy and Eimear Coughlan.

The project celebrates the compositions of Fr PJ Kelly, whose melodies capture the distinctive phrasing and warmth of the East Galway style.

Galway to Fiji features fiddle and piano interpretations of Kelly’s work, including ‘Easter Day’, ‘Fiji Reels’, and ‘Mrs Kelly’s Fancy’.

The ladies’ concert at Monroe’s Live marks a reunion of musical partners who continue to honour the traditions of their home place through performance and collaboration.
