Situated in the tranquil cul-de-sac of Ard na Mara, Scoil Íde along with Salerno Secondary School was founded by the Jesus and Mary sisters. Scoil Íde is a thriving and welcoming primary school with more than 250 students. The school has a strong reputation for excellence in academics, music, and sport.
Scoil Íde makes the most of its surroundings, it is within walking distance of top-class amenities like Leisureland, The Prom, Galway Lawn Tennis Club, and Áras Bóthar na Trá. Students enjoy an abundance of opportunities, taking part in everything from Green Flag environmental initiatives, science and coding workshops to interschool table quizzes.
This past school year, students lit up the stage with two full-scale musicals, Annie and The Little Mermaid, highlighting the school’s dedication to the arts. In sport, Scoil Íde reached new heights, winning the Cumann na mBunscoil County Championship in Gaelic Football, a proud moment that reflects the school's strong coaching partnerships, including support from Salthill Knocknacarra GAA.
Scoil Íde continues to grow and invest in its future. Last year saw the opening of a new library and a sensory room, to enhance learning for all students. A wide range of after-school clubs, such as Lego, Art, dance and performing arts, further enrich the school experience.
Scoil Íde is more than a school, it is a community that fosters confidence, creativity, and a love of learning in every child in a supportive, nurturing and inspiring environment.
Scoil Íde is holding an open evening on Wednesday, October 22 2025 at 6pm for prospective parents and children - all are welcome.
