Merlin College has announced its open night for incoming first year students (2026/27 ), where families will have the opportunity to explore one of Galway’s most dynamic and forward-thinking secondary schools.
In a major milestone, Merlin College is among the first schools in Ireland to introduce drama and theatre studies as a Leaving Certificate subject. This exciting addition reflects the school’s strong ethos of creativity, expression, and innovation. It also complements the school's already thriving dance, art, and film clubs, as well as the much-loved annual TY musical, which has become a highlight of the school calendar.
This new subject offering is part of a broader expansion of the school's Senior Cycle curriculum, which now includes computer science, physical education, Polish, and politics and society — ensuring students have access to a diverse and modern education that prepares them for a rapidly changing world.
