Galway audiences will have the opportunity to hear the Polish-born artist’s hotly anticipated new work ahead of its official release. It will not be available on streaming platforms until early November.
Mixing art pop, Slavic folktronica and electro-pop, Dora Gola has developed a distinctive style influenced by her Polish roots, Irish traditional music, and global sounds ranging from African rhythms to Peruvian folk. Her work also draws on mythology, folklore, and a strong connection to nature.
She began writing songs at the age of twelve while training as a professional dancer. When her family relocated to Ireland three years later, she discovered a new source of inspiration in Irish trad, which continues to inform her artistry.
Since the release of her debut single ‘Dark Sand’, Gola has been described by The Irish Times Magazine and Hot Press as one of Ireland’s most exciting emerging artists.
Her music has been praised for its emphasis on reconnecting with ancestral roots and the natural world.
Known for combining her background in dance with her live performances, Gola’s stage presence brings together vocals and movement.
Don’t miss your chance to hear one of Ireland’s top new electronica artists as she presents her full album, Dance with Danger in the intimate surrounds of Monroe’s Live Backstage venue on Saturday, September 27 from 9:30pm.
Tickets cost €18 and are available from www.monroes.ie
