The Warm Home Hub is back to help local households cut down on their bills and make their homes warmer, more energy-efficient, and more comfortable. Based in Westside, the Hub is running free events across Galway city until December, offering practical advice on how to upgrade your home and access grants. Some of these grants can even cover the full cost of the work. The service is independent and completely free of charge.
?"The Climate Carnival in Fr. Burke Park is a great opportunity to meet the team, ask questions, and see how retrofitting could work for your home," said Hub Manager Kieran Cunnane. The event takes place on Saturday, September 13th, from 11 am to 4 pm.
?Mr. Cunnane says the team will guide people through everything, from applying for grants and finding trusted contractors to understanding the latest technologies.
?There’s also an earlier opportunity to learn about the team’s work during the Westside Decarbonization Zone Field Trip. That takes place on Friday, September 12th, from 9:30 am to 1 pm at the Rocky Road, near Westside Library.
?For those ready to take the next step, the Hub offers one-on-one appointments for homeowners keen to proceed and even door-to-door visits to explain what's available.
?The Warm Home Hub is a partnership project with Galway City Council, funded by the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment. Mr. Cunnane thanks Damien Reddington, Climate Action Co-Ordinator at Galway City Council, for his ongoing support in securing the additional funding.
?If you’ve ever thought about making your home warmer, more energy-efficient, and cheaper to run, now is the time to get involved. Contact [email protected] to find out more.
