Galway Choir seeks one hundred people to find their voice

Back for their third year running, RISE Choir is seeking 100 voices to join them on stage for a sellout show at the Town Hall Theatre in what will be their biggest and most empowering event yet.

Commencing on September 4, the choir is offering ordinary individuals an extraordinary opportunity to find their voice and perform at one of Galway’s most prestigious venues by participating in what they call 'The Rise Experience'.

Over twelve weeks, leading voice coach Dr Caren Hession will teach interested participants the musical arrangements and vocal harmonies for three powerhouse songs, whilst taking them on a journey of courage, connection and community spirit, with eight weeks taking place before the Christmas period and the remaining four after.

As well as the huge benefits choral singing has on mental health, RISE Choir has a particular focus on helping individuals find their voice, physically and metaphorically.

Following the sellout success of last year’s live performance, which saw over 120 singers perform with a full house band as part of the 'Born To Rise' showcase, the choir, who recently raised €1200 for children in Gaza, are seeking voices of all levels and abilities to join them on September 4 as they prepare for their next big performance.

"Our aim for this event is to create a greater awareness of the importance of having a voice and using that voice to make a positive change in your life and your community," says Dr Hession.

‘This event is really about vocal empowerment; rediscovering who you are, finding the strength and the courage to be heard, and being part of something that can make a difference to the lives of others. The choir is a great way to experience this, to have fun, meet new people and just sing your heart out."
