Dean Crowe Theatre, a one-stop shop of entertainment

Settle in for a night of entertainment during your Hidden Heartlands tour with Dean Crowe Theatre and Arts Centre, Athlone. Situated on Chapel Street, the theatre started life as the church for St. Peter’s parish.

Built in two phases, the earliest in 1795 as the old church, the theatre has been through refurbishments and extensions to get to the modern theatre that stands today.

Now with a fine and adventurous programme of activities, something indeed to suit all tastes, the theatre is attracting patrons from all over the Midlands. Few of those who sit in the comfort of this modern theatre would ever suspect that it started life as a penal chapel.

Upcoming performances you should add to your bucket list range from comedy, TED Talks, tribute bands, and children’s books brought to life.

If you fancy a drink during a show, the Dean Crowe Theatre bar is open on select performance nights. This is the ideal spot to meet family and friends, or maybe the cast and crew, before and after the show and during the interval.

Tickets can be booked for any of the upcoming shows in person at Chapel Street, Athlone, Co. Westmeath, N37 VF29, by phone on (090 ) 649 2129, or visit deancrowetheatre.com
