He aims to bring together top-class local musicians to a piano-driven set celebrating the greatest songs of the Seventies and Eighties.

Paddy Cullivan's M.O.R. (Middle Of the Road ) sets will include soft-rock masterpieces from Christopher Cross, Michael McDonald and Supertramp, electric funk from Sly Stone, Marvin Gaye and Bill Withers, with classics from Billy Joel, Prince and even tunes from Kate Bush and The Bangles.

Known for his comedic and subversive between-song banter, Cullivan is joined in his pursuit to rid the world of the term 'yacht rock' by Karl Clews on bass, Ritchie Dittrich on drums and Bertrand Huvé on Saxophone.

As the residency develops, Cullivan, also known for his touring historical shows, said he hopes it becomes a place where musicians and singers of all stripes can come to develop a set of mellow masterpieces in a pub named for regicide.
