The self-titled album contained top ten singles such as ‘Forever Lost’, ‘Love Me Like You’ and ‘Love Is a Game’, and went double platinum, selling over a million copies worldwide.

The record’s success helped cement them as one of the best-loved indie outfits. This British four-piece comprises two pairs of siblings, Romeo and Michele Stodart, and Sean and Angela Gannon.

In the years since, The Magic Numbers has toured the world, both headlining and supporting a wide array of artists including Neil Young, Brian Wilson, Radiohead, The Flaming Lips, The Who, U2, Elbow, and Bright Eyes.

They have released five studio albums to date, with Outsiders introducing a more guitar-driven edge.

Beyond the band, Romeo and Michele have both been active as songwriters and producers. Romeo has collaborated with artists including the late Jane Birkin, Natalie Imbruglia, Ren Harvieu, and co-wrote ‘Close Your Eyes’ with The Chemical Brothers for their Grammy-winning Push The Button.

Michele, meanwhile, has carved out a critically acclaimed solo career. Her latest album earned Album of the Year and Artist of the Year at the UK Americana Awards, 2024.

In addition to touring, the band is currently working on new material, continuing to explore creatively together in the studio.
