Blas na Bealtaine Food Festival returns with a very tasty line up

Galway’s month-long food festival, Blas na Bealtaine (A Taste of May ), is back this May with a packed programme celebrating flavour, culture and community. With more than 20 events already confirmed across the city and county, the festival is the perfect excuse to try something new, meet new people, and soak up the buzz of Galway’s food scene.

From natural wine pairings and seafood trails to pop-up feasts, chef swaps, and global flavours rooted in West of Ireland ingredients, Blas na Bealtaine showcases some of the very best places to eat and drink across Galway.

Festival Highlights Include:

Daróg Wine Bar hosts two ‘Meet the Winemaker’ evenings with Zoltán Heimann Jnr. (Hungary ) and Jonatan Garcia (Tenerife ).

Alma presents three themed feasts exploring Portugal’s links with Africa, Asia and Brazil.

Aniar Restaurant welcomes Irish micro-négociant Róisín Curley for a Burgundy wine celebration, a chef swap with Gráinne Mullins, and an 8-course Brazilian-inspired dinner.

Fable Tours offers Clifden Bites & Sights, a guided culinary tour.

Cava Bodega teams up with Palestinian chef Fadi Kattan and sommelier Anna Patorowicz for a one-off dinner, and celebrates its birthday with a free Paella Party (Friday 2nd May ).

Micil Distillery x Sheridans Cheesemongers collaborate on an Irish craft pairing event, with Sheridans also hosting two cheese and wine tastings.

Blackthorn Restaurant, Barna hosts ‘A Taste of Togetherness’ — small plates and organic wine in a relaxed setting.

Pasta-making classes with Tony Carelli return by popular demand.

Brazilian chef Laura Rosso presents a traditional Feijoada weekend.

Galway Bay Boat Tours x Galway Bay Seafood offer a sea-to-plate experience for seafood lovers.

Brasserie on the Corner x Micil Distillery serve a spirited Irish lunch pairing.
