Australian pianist Piers Lane will put the finishing notes to Music for Galway’s 43rd International Concert Season on Wednesday, May 7, at St Joseph’s Church on Presentation Road at 7:30pm.
Both Lane and American pianist Anne-Marie McDermott were to be jury members of the Dublin International Piano Competition later in the month. Sadly, McDermott had to cancel her engagement, but Lane has come to the rescue for the Galway recital. Audiences are in for a rare treat as the programme will be the complete Nocturnes by Chopin. Lane will give spoken introductions as he performs these most popular pieces of the piano repertoire.
