Mark Aulsberry (RTS Heating and Cooling), Fergal Cantwell (Envirobead), April McHale (Daikin), Stephen Farrell (SEAI) and Pamela McCabe (Envirobead) will all be attending an Envirobead home energy information evening in Galway on Thursday, April 10.

Homeowners in County Galway who register for an upcoming home energy upgrade information evening will get a free home energy assessment (HEA ) worth €850.

The information evening event on Thursday, April 10 in The Ardilaun Hotel in Galway city at 7.30pm is being organised by Envirobead — one of the Ireland’s leading deep retrofit specialists.

Envirobead is currently rolling out its ‘One Stop Shop’ service across the country and is inviting homeowners who are interested in finding out more about home energy upgrades to register now at envirobead.com to avail of the free HEA.

“The home energy assessment is the first step, that will give you all the information required to show you what needs to be done to bring your home up to a B2 minimum rating,” explained Fergal Cantwell of Envirobead.

“The biggest reason to get a home energy upgrade is to future-proof your home for the next 25 to 30 years,” he added. “You’ll have a more comfortable home and, hopefully, reduce your energy bills into the future as well.

“Envirobead are an SEAI-registered One Stop Shop provider in the energy efficiency industry in Ireland,” he added.

“We’ve a very experienced team right across the country, and we provide nationwide coverage to complete your home energy upgrade.”

A panel of home energy upgrade experts — including Stephen Farrell (SEAI, programme manager National Retrofit Technical ) and April McHale (Daikin ) — will be in attendance at The Ardilaun Hotel to explain the various aspects of the ‘One Stop Shop’ initiative.

Everything from home insulation to solar panels to heat pumps to ventilation, and much more, will be on the agenda.

“If you’re looking at doing a deep retrofit, the ‘One Stop Shop’ is the only way to go for your home energy upgrade. It’s so much simpler.”

These were the words of Justine Barrett from the SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland ) when she spoke at a very well-attended Envirobead home energy upgrade information evening in Limerick recently.

“The One Stop Shop is going to organise the SEAI grants, they’re going to apply for them on your behalf, you only have to pay the net of the grants, they’ll co-ordinate all the contractors, and take all that hassle out for you,” she added.

“It will all be streamlined time-wise as well.”

“The biggest impact you’ll have on any house is a ‘fabric first’ approach so we’re looking at wall insulation, attic insulation, windows and doors,” said Fergal Cantwell.

“We’ve been working together as a team for 10 years, we all move together as one body to carry out the installations,” said Hugh Foley of RTS Heating & Cooling.

“The job happens seamlessly and easily.”

The expert panel will also take part in a questions and answers session which is always very informative.

Peter Finn — aka Pete The Builder from RTE’s Home Rescue TV show — will also be in attendance to give some tips and advice about home energy upgrades.
