Sean Keane - new single and Town Hall show

'I'll Be There' is a song of compassion and the importance of reaching out - ideal for this time of restrictions and pandemic

SEAN KEANE, one of Galway's finest, and best loved singers, this week released his new single, 'I'll Be There', ahead of his virtual Town Hall Theatre show later this month.

'I'll Be There', written by Iggy Broderick, is about the importance of reaching out to others, and maintaining a sense of empathy and concern - themes which resonate strongly with Sean when he heard the song.

“When I heard this song a few weeks ago I knew I wanted to record it," he said. "It is exactly what the people need in lockdown. Through my weekly Facebook shows on a Sunday evening I am well aware that people need to be connected and not feel alone. Music and song brings them together and 'I’ll Be There' gives them a feeling that someone cares for them. I put in some whistling also for a bit of fun.”

An uptempo number, it mixes Irish folk-song with a strong dose of Cajun bounce and drive, courtesy of accordionist Stephen Doherty. It was recorded in the Mountain View Studio at Cong.

Seán will perform his annual Christmas By The Hearth concert, in a special live stream from the Town Hall Theatre on Thursday December 17. Tickets are available from the Town Hall (www.tht.ie, 091 - 569777 ).
