Every year for the last six years Michael Clarke has held an annual cycle for St Anthony’s Special school in Castlebar. This year’s cycle will take place on the Saturday June 23 from Kilkelly to Claremorris, on to the school in Castlebar, and then on to Swinford and Kiltimagh, and back to Kilkelly.

The winners of the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life 'Forgotten Objects' Primary School Competition 2012 have been announced.
A total of 197 entries were received and included ‘forgotten objects’ such as horseshoes, old photographs, gramophones, helmets, coins, typewriters, a World War One medal, a high Nelly bicycle and a Bosco doll to name a few. In the written category poems and short stories were received, as well as a mixture of paintings, drawing, collages, and photographs in the art category .
