A special gospel concert will take place in Achill on Friday July 27 at 8.15pm in Halla Acla, Achill Sound; in The Broadhaven Bay Hotel, Belmullet on August 1 at 8.15pm; in Ionad Deirbhile Heritage Centre, Eachléim on August 2 at 8.15pm, and finally a concert will take place on August 3 at 8.15pm in The Talbot Hotel, Belmullet.

Councillors give Knock Airport local area plan the go ahead

The Ireland West Airport Knock Local Area Plan 2012 to 2018 was given the go ahead at a special meeting of Mayo County Council last Monday. The plan had been up for adoption at the normal July monthly meeting of the council, but was postponed so some amendments to the plan could be made, following consultations between the airport management, council management, and councillors.

Calls for public to make submissions on new Garda Strategy

The members of the Cultural, Education, Heritage and Corporate Affairs SPC of Mayo County Council have called for the members of the public to have their say on the new Garda Strategy Statement which is currently being formulated. The strategy statement will run from 2013 to 2015 and submissions from the public are being sought.
