Mayo singer releases her first single

Local singer Olwyn Murray (20 ) has just released her first single “Falling in Love Again” in the iTunes and in the Irish charts.

From a young age Olwyn started getting vocal lessons with Lavinia Gilmartin in Ballina. At the age of 10 Olwyn was a member of a group called Spirit, a group of girls from the Ballina area who performed throughout Mayo in concerts, pantos, and different events. By 15, Olwyn was chosen to sing on The Late Late Toy Show, and in the summer of 2008 and 2009 Olwyn went to Los Angeles to perform in the World Championship of Performing Arts. In 2010 Olwyn entered the All Ireland Talent Show and then moved to the UK to study music at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, from where she has just graduated. In December 2012 Olwyn was also a part of the Hillsborough Christmas Number 1— “He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother”.

She is now doing a few mini gigs throughout Ireland to promote the single and try to get it heard in as many places as possible. While continuing to writing songs and planning her singles and music videos, next month Olwyn is releasing another single and she intends to perform at many venues and events throughout the country.
