United season tickets on sale

•Galway United Supporters Trust will have a season ticket stand upstairs in Elverys Sports, Galway Retail Park, Headford Road, on Saturday from 11am to 5pm. GUST will also have a stand in the Galway Shopping Centre, Headford Road on Sunday (11am to 5pm) and from Monday December 21 to 2 (5.30pm - 9.00pm). Adult season tickets will be on sale at €150 up to Christmas, with concession tickets on sale at €90. Season ticket forms are available on-line at www.galwayunitedfc.ie, from the Galway United office 09-767336, and from Ronan Coleman 087-6972823. Tickets for the Galway United Champions League fundraising draw will also be on sale from the stands.

Having jumped to third in the AIB League dvision 1B table with a worthy away win to Ballymena, Galwegians now have an opportunity to edge closer to the top with a home fixture against Young Munster on Saturday (2.30pm).

Young Munster are currently sitting in second place with 20 points, and although Galwegians can only catch them with a bonus-point win, a victory is still essential if they want to close the gap between themselves and the pace-setters, led by Old Belvedere.

This should prove a tense encounter for Galwegians against a side that sits just one place behind Galwegians on the division 1B league table. Ballymena boast a superior scoring tally , but the number of points conceded is greater, and Galwegians will be hoping to exploit that at Eaton Park.
