Galway travel to Tyrone this weekend for round three of the league. Galway's performance two weeks ago against Roscommon was better than the game against Mayo last month. The team will need to raise its standard against the 2021 All-Ireland champions on Sunday.

With so few fixtures left, the importance of positive results grows ever greater. As the Connemara men sit keenly balanced between chasing a playoff spot but still being at risk of relegation, this weekend is a superb chance of a home win.

It was a game that had been anticipated for some time. The battle of the top two teams in the JP Flanagan Leinster U20 League with the result having a major bearing on where the league title would go. Corinthians and Dublin University were the teams coming into this battle, and after eighty minutes of sublime rugby from both sides, it was Corinthians who came out on top by just a single point.
The win was significant for Corinthians because it extended the Galway team’s lead at the top of the Division to nine points with just four games remaining against Buccaneers, St Mary’s College, Greystones and UCD.

The Galway Intermediate Camogie team got their Very Division 2B league campaign off to an ideal start as they overcame Kilkenny in windy conditions in Kinvara on Saturday. Conor Dolan’s charges showed how they have improved from their 2023 season campaign and the win was essential to help with building their confidence for the year ahead.
It was a game of two halves in Kinvara and Galway played with the aid of an extremely strong breeze in the first half. It was Kilkenny who opened the game with a free from Rachel Dowling in the opening 2 minutes. That was the only score that Kilkenny registered in the half. Galway had some missed opportunities in the opening 8 minutes as they tried to adjust to the windy conditions. Niamh Spellman with 0-7 points (two from play), 0-3 from Aoibheann Barry and 0-2 from their captain, Ava Lynskey meant that Galway went into the break 0-12 to 0-1 ahead at the half time.
