Galway ladies suffer late loss

The Galway Ladies Senior B lost the Aisling McGing semi-final to Dublin by 4-04 - 1-12, thus completing the whitewash of all Galway Ladies teams by Dublin at the semi-final stage.

In a cracking game of football, Dublin were first off the mark with a point from Hannah Tyrell, but Eilis Gannon replied for Galway with a free. Deirdre Brennan, Shelly Burke, and Gannon added to the tally, but the killer blow came as Dublin ran in two goals, one from a penalty. However Galway’s Burke and Gannon scored one each from play and one each from frees to bring Galway into the break with a one-point lead.
