It has been a particularly encouraging campaign for Johnny Glynn's Mervue, who are currently in fourth position, but with second-placed Longford Town heading for champions Athlone Town, and Waterford United, who occupy third, visiting Cobh Ramblers, the Galway outfit will feel they have sufficient momentum to finish the season with a flourish.

Galway WFC return to the capital this Sunday for the second week in a row to take on Bus Éireann Women’s National League champions Raheny United in Morton Stadium, Santry (2pm).
They make the trip fresh from last week’s victory which saw them put four past Shamrock Rovers without reply in TallaghtStadium, including a hat trick from Sinead Taylor.

Moycullen men's basketball hope to follow up an encouraging opening day league display with a victory when they head to Cork to face cup champions Neptune on Sunday.
The young Moycullen outfit with four debutants began the new season in the revamped Premier League against the reigning league champions UL Eagles in Limerick last weekend, and although they lost 70-58, it was a tense and tight affair for most of the fixture.
