Full steam ahead for O’Donnellan & Joyce auction season
Thu, Jan 20, 2011
Following its unrivalled auction success during 2010 when 80 per cent of all properties that went into the auction room sold, it is full steam ahead with the auction process for O’Donnellan & Joyce. The company is known countrywide to have one of the most successful track records when it comes to selling properties by public auction, and its first auction of the season already has a very interesting line up. In this time of uncertainty there are more and more people of the opinion that when it comes to selling property auction is the way forward, and O’Donnellan & Joyce has proved that it is the leading company for auctions.
The first auction of 2011 will be held in the Victoria Hotel on Friday February 25 at 3pm. So far on the list for auction on that day are No 1 Blake’s Lane, Bohermore; No 67 Moyola Park, Newcastle; No 2 Reddington Road, Shantalla; No 11 The Green, College Road; and a property in Ardrahan. All these properties come onto the market with very reasonable price tags which means that on the auction day the reserves will be equally attractive. There is great value to be had now. Open viewings for all properties going into the February auction will commence on Saturday January 22 and continue every Thursday and Saturday up to the auction date.

Property Partners Maxwell Heaslip & Leonard has seen quite an active start to the year with a flurry of new homes being brought to the market. Many vendors are now taking a very realistic view with pricing and it is now very often the case that it would be nigh on impossible to replace many homes at the prices they are being sold for. According to James Heaslip this is very much a repeat of the mid 1980s when a similar cycle happened. At that time property prices plummeted and sites were very difficult to sell due to this imbalance in pricing. This imbalance will certainly rectify itself, but for the time being, he said, it is time to take advantage of the incredible value out there.
