Senator Lorraine Higgins has called on the Minister for Finance to come into the Seanad to debate transparency of prices being achieved for proprety sold by NAMA.
Senator Higgins was reacting to news of the “scandalous profit made on a site sold by NAMA, at 1-6 Sir John Rogerson’s Quay in Dublin’s Docklands which was sold initially by the agency for €7.5m in June 2014 and then resold for €17.75m in August this year”.

The National Transport Authority’s Leap Card integrated ticketing scheme is now live in Galway City on Bus Éireann services and on City Direct services (from Cappagh to the West and Oranmore and Parkmore to the East of the City).
Customers can choose an adult, student or child Leap Card for better value and more convenient travelling. It is a pay-as-you-go smart card that pays for public transport services. Leap fares are 16 per cent cheaper than the corresponding cash single ticket on Bus Éireann services (routes 401 – 410), and are the same price as cash fares on City Direct services (routes 411 – 413).

Two memorial Concerts by two Welsh choirs will be held in Barna Church on Tuesday next October 28 and in St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church on Wednesday October 29 in aid of Galway Hospice.
Côr Meibion Ardudwy (male choir) programme is varied and includes folk songs, songs from musicals, classical songs, songs gathered from different countries and as the choirs are Welsh, a few hymn tunes, all of which will be sung with much gusto and enthusiasm. They also include some Irish songs in their repertoire. The choir boasts as many as ten soloists in their midst so a varied programme is guaranteed.
