The Village Nursing Care Centre announced this week a flood support scheme for older people in the local community. Having recently launched a Home Care Service, The Village Care Centre will offer free home care packages to suitable candidates over the coming fortnight. The service will offer three two hourly visits per week for the next two weeks.

The group provides opportunities for people who stutter to discuss issues around their stammering, as well as providing mutual support. Many people who have attended groups have found them to be very helpful in feeling more comfortable with their stammering.

The sports gear and equipment will be passed on to those who need it but may not have the resources to purchase it themselves, including schools, sports clubs, and individuals. The collection will take place from 12.30pm with prizes and surprise guests in store on the day.

On Sunday November 29 at 6.30pm in the car park at Caherlistrane’s GAA pitch, scores of people from near and far who took part in Alfred the Great, and who may have never yet seen themselves in it will now have a chance to view the film .
