Galway’s newest live music venue, Monroe’s Live featuring three bars, two floors, and one stage in one venue, opens tomorrow with a gig by Galway band The Timbertramps.
The Galway Arts Centre’s Páraic Breathnach will officially launch the new venue at 8.30pm and there will also be a performance from Bohermore folk singer-songwriter Don Stiffe. Also performing are rock cover band Starman from 11pm.

Taisteal le Tarlach sa Pholainn, the new children’s book from Laoise Ní Chomhraí will be launched in the Galway City Museum on Saturday December 12 at 3pm.
This is Laoise’s second book in her Taisteal le Tarlach series. This latest instalment follows Tarlach on his way to Poland with his friend Adas. The two intend spending Christmas there and want to go skiing and travelling around the country. However Tarlach has to get to grips with both the language and the food, which proves a source of amusement to his Polish friends.
