An Ardrahan man who cannot seem to keep his shirt on or in one piece when out socialising has been ordered to stay away from Galway city centre pending the completion of a community service report.
If deemed suitable 21-year-old Wayne Sherry of Angelhaven, Carrarloggy, Ardrahan West, Co Galway, will be ordered to complete 130 hours of community service and if he fails to co-operate he could face the activation of a four months sentence.

A drunk driver who wrapped his 3 series BMW around a telephone pole while over twice the legal limit failed to contest the charges at Galway District Court this week and was fined and disqualified from driving for three years.
Slovakian native Jozef Pastorek, with an address at 68 Gleann Dara, Rahoon, appeared in court on Monday and denied the charge of drink driving at Barna Road on August 28, 2009. He had also been charged with careless driving on the same date.

I didn’t have a complicated life. I was run of the mill, still am. ‘D’ya fancy livin in England, there’s a secondment up for grabs in Windsor for six months’. It was one of those fleeting comments in June 2009. ‘Are ya jokin, the kids would never cope’. Sure what would we want livin’ over there, Galway was home. We had made our move back from Dublin. We were happy, ploddin along, wingin it. But when the boss highly recommends he considers it, I know there may be trouble ahead but without the moonlight and love and romance. More like, fasten yer seatbelts, turbulence to come.
