The toolkit, entitled Traveller Beoirs Mean Business, was launched on Monday April 30 in the Ballybane Enterprise Centre by some of the participants on Galway Traveller Movement’s (GTM) enterprise programme for women.

Brewers On The Bay festival takes place this weekend

The third annual Brewers on the Bay festival takes place this Saturday and Sunday and will feature the best brews from microbreweries across Ireland.

The festival celebrates craft beers and will be centred in the Oslo Microbrewery in Salthill. A total of 14 microbreweries will be showcasing their beers and one-off brews. Currently confirmed are Bay Brewery (Galway), Carlow Brewing (Carlow), Eight Degrees Brewing (Cork), Franciscan Well Brewery (Cork), Galway Hooker (Galway), Hilden Brewery (Belfast), Porterhouse Brewing (Dublin), Metalman Brewing (Waterford), Trouble Brewing (Kildare), White Gypsy (Tipperary), Whitewater Brewing (Down), Dungarvan Brewing (Waterford), and Tempted Cider (Antrim).

Kitt calls for a Yes vote on the Fiscal Treaty referendum

Galway East Fianna Fail TD Micheal Kitt has called on the people of Galway to vote yes on the upcoming fiscal treaty referendum.

Deputy Kitt said a yes vote would benefit more than 22,000 people who are unemployed in Galway county by ensuring that Ireland remains an attractive place for foreign investment. “I will be honest and say that the Treaty will not cure all our economic woes but it will definitely allow Galway and Ireland to have a more secure foundation for our future,” Deputy Kitt said, adding that the recent announcement of 100 new jobs at Cisco in Oranmore demonstrated that Galway remains an attractive option for foreign direct investment.
