It’s double trouble for swimmers as Inis Oírr’s resident bottlenose dolphin, Sandy, seems to have taken up with a French bad boy by the name Clet with the two now controlling their surf and the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group urging caution.

The new arrival, a solitary bottlenose dolphin with a history of long distance relocations and aggression towards swimmers, first arrived off the south coast a few weeks ago, eventually making his way along the West Cork coastline, in both Schull and Baltimore harbours, and stopping off in Dingle, Co Kerry. However, with Fungie not available to receive visitors, Clet then moved on to the Aran Islands where he clearly found a reason to hang around, for a while that is.

With Electric Ceili, fresh from their appearance on Up for the Match, playing as part of the impressive Guinness Amplify concerts, rocking the crowds. And with the All Ireland Hurling Final replay on Saturday, punters at Garveys will get a free pint of Guinness every time the sliotar hits the back of the net at Croke Park.

Tim Murray (Electric Céilí 's founder and guitarist) has gathered together a remarkable set of musicians. Gary Roche, Daire Bracken and Barra Mc Allister make up a powerhouse melodic trio of pipes, fiddle and flute respectively with Murray’s sublime acoustic triplets and stomps at its rhythmic centre. Add in keys virtuoso Peter Eades along with ex Clannad drummer Paul Moran, and the effect is quite something. At various intervals the band introduce rhodes, clavinet and hammond to the mix and give us a lesson in furious Gallic energy and technique without ever letting go of the spirit. Controlled energy instead of misplaced anger. The melody and fluid rhythm is inspired.
