Woman dragged into bushes in early morning assault

Gardaí have launched a hunt for a man who assaulted a woman and dragged her into bushes at Dun Na Coiribe last week.
The woman was walking home alone in the early hours of Thursday September 8 when she was grabbed by a man and pulled into nearby bushes. Two men who were nearby heard the woman’s screams and came to her aid, and her attacker fled.

The Galway City Council is proposing to close a number of roads to traffic to facilitate the Galway Bay Half-Marathon and 10K Race.
The roads to be closed are the Claddagh Quay, Grattan Road, Seapoint Promenade, Salthill Road (Upper) and Upper Salthill to westbound traffic to facilitate these road races between 10am and 12.30pm on Saturday October 1. Alternative routes will be in place.
