The International College for Personal and Professional Development, a third level adult education college in Garden Vale, Athlone, Co Westmeath, will hold an open day in Galway next week. A major search was launched in Clonboo on Tuesday night when a pedestrian was struck by a car on the Curragh Line.
The driver, who struck the man at around 9pm, called emergency services immediately after the accident. The motorist could not find the pedestrian after the incident, and gardaí and the coast guard searched for the man for two hours as fears for his safety escalated.
