A 24-year-old man has been sent forward for trial in relation to a serious assault which occurred in the city centre on Christmas Eve more than two years ago.

Shannon Walsh, with an address at 3 Mount Carmel, 216 Upper Salthill, was brought in custody before Galway District Court charged with allegedly assaulting a man causing him harm at Frenchville Lane, Eyre Square, on December 24, 2012, contrary to Section 3 of the Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.
