Volvo and Renault begin van joint venture

Following joint venture agreements signed last October, Volvo Group and Renault Group have obtained regulatory approval to launch their new company, Flexis SAS.

The new van-making venture will be based in France, and will build fully-electric commercial vehicles to "address the growing needs of decarbonised and efficient urban logistics".

Toyota kicks off 2024 as market leader

Toyota has closed out the hugely competitive January passenger car sales period as the clear market leader with a share of 17.34%. This marks the fourth January in a row as Ireland’s best-selling car brand. 5,457 passenger cars were sold by Toyota, 1,665 more than the next best seller during January, and showing a 22.99% increase year on year. A continuing consumer demand for hybrid electric and electric vehicles is clear, making up 96.2% of all Toyota passenger cars sold in January.
