Galway sweep to camogie crown win

Galway produced a dominant second-half display against Clare to waltz to their second All-Ireland Minor A Camogie title.

Keeping Clare scoreless in the second half, Galway were easy 4-14 to 0-6 winners at MacDonagh Park, Nenagh, to reclaim the title they last won in 2010 when Clare were also the victims.

The Banner County, in their fourth final at U18 level since 2006, kept pace with Galway in the opening half, trailing by 1-5 to 0-6 with Mairéád Dillon’s 15th minute goal the difference. However Galway took control after a second goal from Ciara Helebert after 41 minutes. Scores from Siobham McGrath and another two goals from Dolan near the end ensured an easy victory for the Galway minors.
