Hurlers should be too far strong for Laois

Following their disappointing and costly defeat to Wexford two weeks ago in Pearse Stadium, the Galway hurlers are expected to be far too strong for Laois this Sunday (2pm ) at the same venue.

The bookies have Galway down at 1/33 to win in Salthill, with the visitors available at 11/1 which tells you all you need to know about people's expectations.

Micheal Donoghue's hand should also be strengthened by the return of Cathal and Pádraig Mannion after their club efforts with Ahascragh-Fohenagh.

Anything except a solid win for Galway would be classified as a significant shock. With Daithí Burke, John Hanbury, Joseph Cooney, David Burke, Jason Flynn, Conor Cooney and Johnny Coen all showing flashes of good form against Wexford, Galway should win with some ease.
